Home safe and sound

All in all, a fabulous trip to Door County...we'll be back to visit - kids included next time!

Kayaks and life vests

There are even bikes available too. This is a great state park. Tell everyone you know and get out to enjoy nature.

Look at those guns...

And how do you get those? Kayak three miles around the bay, that's how.

...But first a quick smooch.

View from the top

That is horseshoe island about a mile out... Ok, time to get down from this thing.

On our way up

Yeah... This thing was a little shaky for my liking.

Look at that

The photographer is actually in one...

Eagle Bluff

Quick stop on our way to the observation tower. Soaking up every second of sun...

Lighthouse

The back door... Insert jokes here.

See it there in the background...

Yeah, it was a bit chilly for Heather on the ride in. You may be able to tell by the look on her face.

Peninsula State Park Lighthouse

Referred to as the jewel of Wisconsin, by our motel neighbors, our adventure began at the lighthouse.

The future home of the Coenens.

Beautiful condos right on Sister Bay. We'll have to wait for retirement though.

Pizza makes the world a better place.

At least it makes me smile.

Deliciousness

Nothing better than pizza in small doses, though.

And I laugh at the thought.

I hope for the sake of our society, that no one attempts it ever again. Thankfully only two people in twelve years have succeeded.

I will do this next time...

Oh yes, I will eat this 26" pizza in an hour and take home the $100. More than likely I will take home a tumbler ache too.

Ephraim Motel

Our accommodations for the next two days. Plus, it's dry! Look at the rock star parking.

The rain finally ended

Just after our meal... Heading up to the hotel.

Egg Harbor

Also known as Green Bay aka Lake Michigan...

Lunch at the Shipwreck Brewery

In Egg Harbor

Picture time: the creeper in the hall

BMW shop on a very windy day...

Quick stop to try on some apparel.
The rain has ceased, but the wind is nutty! We are just outside Appleton...

Friday, July 31, 2009

Apparently the internal clock is set for six-thirty. Off for a day of hiking through Peninsula State Park!

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Hmm, we seem to be in a place where we cannot send MMS. So this is what it's like to have AT&T.

The rider...

Rain or no the waves sound relaxing

Quick stop at a wayside to clean the rain out of the helmet. That is Lake Michigan in the background.

All Geared Up

We knew the rain was inevitable. At least we'll be 'dry'.

I call this taillights through a screen

End of day one finds us in Manitowoc, WI. Befriending the desk staff gets you a good room with a view of your motorcycle just outside your window. Bed now.

Posterior Respite

Approaching the end of the day.

First stop: Madison for gas...

Fully loaded, two-up and averaging 70mph we are getting 40 mpg. 165 more miles today until we rest for the night.

On the road!
