Home safe and sound
All in all, a fabulous trip to Door County...we'll be back to visit - kids included next time!
Kayaks and life vests
There are even bikes available too. This is a great state park. Tell everyone you know and get out to enjoy nature.
On our way up

See it there in the background...
Yeah, it was a bit chilly for Heather on the ride in. You may be able to tell by the look on her face.
Peninsula State Park Lighthouse
Referred to as the jewel of Wisconsin, by our motel neighbors, our adventure began at the lighthouse.
And I laugh at the thought.
I hope for the sake of our society, that no one attempts it ever again. Thankfully only two people in twelve years have succeeded.
I will do this next time...
Oh yes, I will eat this 26" pizza in an hour and take home the $100. More than likely I will take home a tumbler ache too.

Rain or no the waves sound relaxing
Quick stop at a wayside to clean the rain out of the helmet. That is Lake Michigan in the background.

I call this taillights through a screen
End of day one finds us in Manitowoc, WI. Befriending the desk staff gets you a good room with a view of your motorcycle just outside your window. Bed now.
First stop: Madison for gas...
Fully loaded, two-up and averaging 70mph we are getting 40 mpg. 165 more miles today until we rest for the night.
